Memorial accounts

Just because a family member is no longer with us, doesn’t mean they don’t still play a huge role in your family. Memorial Accounts help you keep their memories very much alive and part of your story.

Young person accounts

The newest generation of your family might not be quite ready to see everything that's going on. Young Person Accounts let younger members still be a part of your family on Kin.

Private & safe for all

We understand that both the people and information on Kin are precious to you. It is why we will never permit advertising on Kin, nor put any of our user information or data up for sale.

Frequentlyasked questions

What is Kin, and what are the benefits of using Kin?

Kin is an app that gives your family its own private media space where you can connect with each other today, share memories from yesterday, and even leave messages for tomorrow. All free of advertising and without your data ever being up for sale. The biggest benefits of Kin are:

  1. Kin is totally private, and you choose who is invited into your Kin family. We are a paid subscription app because there is no advertising, news, brands or other unwanted interruptions on Kin. Our subscription model, and the reason we exist, means your data will never be for sale.

  2. Kin is easy to join. It’s also simple to use so that every family member - even the little ones, and those gone but not forgotten - can be involved and remembered.

  3. We are secure. We understand the value of what you keep on Kin because we are family people too. It's why we take every precaution possible to keep every story, memory and message as safe as possible.

Can anyone use Kin?

We like to think so. Kin is designed to involve the whole family, and those you’ve come to call family. For example, Young Person Accounts make it possible for adults to control media related to the littles ones in the family, with access grantable to them when they reach 14. You can of course create groups for different family groups, and friends or other groups of people.

We are working on an accessible version of Kin, which we will launch as soon as possible.

Is it difficult to use Kin?

No, we've made sure it isn't. Kin was designed to be simple enough that even the slightly tech shy should be able to create a post and invite family members to join their page.

We are working on an accessible version of Kin, which we will launch as soon as possible.

But before you do that, some age-old advice: sleep on it first.

Note: only the family ‘Kinpin’, who started and manages the family, can remove family members.

Our users love Kin

An essential app for long-distance families

Especially during times like these with travel at a standstill, Kin is such a brilliant way for my family, who are spread across several time zones, to stay up-to-date on each others' lives. I look forward to when my kids are old enough to have their own account and be able to scroll through all our family's photos and memories in one place.
